Congratulations to the Midd-West wrestlers who completed in the Southern Sectional this past weekend at Southern Columbia. The top four finishers advance to the District tournament in Williamsport Feb. 23-24. Advancing for Midd-West are the following:
2nd place - Matthew Smith, Evan Maneval and Mason Kerstetter
3rd place - Jay Yount
4th place - Charley Paige, Grant Yount and Bryce Hackenburg

Both the Midd-West varsity and JV cheer squads participated in the Milton Panther Challenge this past weekend. Both teams brought home the GOLD in their respective divisions. The varsity team won 1st in the Large Varsity Traditional division and the JV team won the Game Day JV division. Congratulations to both teams and coaches!


Congratulations to the Midd-West boys bowling team who brought home the PHAC championship with a close victory over Selinsgrove. The team of Kyle Beward, Caden Stauffer, Westin Kuhns, Collin Stauffer, Coltyn Bickel, Carson Hill and Rowan Kuhns bowled with composure to overcome the tough Seals team, 3-2. Way to go boys!
Kyle Beward also finished the season as the #1 average in the league for the 2nd year in a row. He finished the 2023-24 season with a 218 average to lead all male bowlers. Congrats Kyle!

Congratulations to Midd-West senior Noah Romig, who scored his 1,000 career point this past Friday evening. Noah joins 3 other Mustangs with this honor; Jerry Wagner, Emilee (Wagner) Shaffer and Kelli Beiler.

Congratulations to Midd-West senior, Storm Wilt, who has committed to play softball at Wilkes University. Storm will major in Sports Management and be a great addition to the Colonels line-up. Way to go Storm!

Tonight's girls basketball game vs. St. Joe's will be varsity only at 6:00 pm.
Attention all football players in grades 6-11th grade, there will be a meeting for all football parents on February 22nd at 7:00 pm in the high school cafeteria. All 2024 parents should attend.

On Saturday, the boys and girls bowling teams traveled to Lancaster to compete in the Snow Roller Showdown. After 5 games of qualifying, both teams advanced to the step ladder finals. The girls team qualified 2nd and finished third, losing to the eventual champion Selinsgrove. The boys team qualified 3rd, won their first match against Central York, then lost to the eventual champion Conwell-Egan. Kyle Beward also qualified for the all-tournament team shooting a 704 series. Great job mustangs!

Attention all senior athletes, The PHAC athletic scholarship applications have been released. If your son or daughter is interested in applying, please have them see Mrs. Solomon in Room 309 or email at bsolomon@mwsd.cc for an application. All submissions are due back to Mrs. Solomon by Jan. 19th.
Midd-West Elementary Basketball Registration
The Midd-West Elementary Basketball program is open to boys and girls in grades 3 through 6. The program will kick off on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, and run through Saturday, February 24, 2024. Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with games on Saturday mornings. The cost per player is $25.00 and includes a t-shirt for game days. Registration forms are available in the office of West Snyder Elementary, Middleburg Elementary, and Midd-West Middle School. Please make checks payable to Midd-West Girls Basketball.
Registration forms and payment are due no later than Thursday, November 30, 2023.
Congratulations to Midd-West senior baseball player, Caden Wolfley, who signed his national letter of intent to play Division 1 baseball at Charleston Southern University. Caden is a hard throwing southpaw and is just as dangerous with the bat and will make a great addition to the Buccanears line-up. Way to go, Caden! Mustang Proud!!

Winter athlete meeting - there will be a meeting for all winter sports participants on Monday, November 13th at 6:00 pm in the high school auditorium. We will discuss PIAA and MWSD rules and regulations, review healthy roster and meet with coaches. All winter sports participants need to attend.

Boys Soccer will host the first round PIAA game on Tuesday, Nov. 7th at 6:00 pm. They will play the District XI runner-up, Blue Mountain.
Field Hockey will travel to Oley Valley High School to play the District III champions at 6:00 pm. Tickets must be purchased online at piaa.org
Saturday in Cross Country action, Anden Aitkins and Ben Hummel ran in the state championship meet on a difficult 5K course at Hershey. Both guys came out strong in the field of 250 runners. After the first mile Ben found himself in 50th with Anden not far behind in 60th. Both guys were able to pick up some ground by the 2 mile mark with Ben now in 37th and Anden in 54th place. Ben finished 30th with a time of 17:03 and Anden finished 55th with a time of 17:33. Congratulations Ben and Anden on a great season!



It was an exciting Thursday evening for the Mustang athletes and fans! The field hockey team beat Northwest 1-0 to earn a 3rd place medal and a trip to the PIAA State tournament. They will play the District III champion on Tuesday at a site and time TBD.
Later that evening, the boys soccer team defeated Central Columbia 1-0 to win the District IV AA championship! They will host their first round game on Tuesday, time and opponent TBD.
Congratulations to both teams for grinding it out and playing tough! A huge thank you to all the fans who showed up and cheered on the student athletes. Let's keep it rolling! Go Mustangs!


Congratulations to the Midd-West Boys Soccer and Field Hockey teams as they will both continue post-season play on November 2nd. The field hockey team lost a tough 1-0 decision to Central Columbia in the semi-finals. They will play in the 3rd place game on Thursday against Northwest at Selinsgrove at 5:00 pm. The winner will compete in the State tournament the following week.
The boys soccer team upset the #1 seed 3-0 last Saturday and then took care of the #4 seed Wellsboro last evening 4-1 to earn a spot in the District championship game. They will play #2 seed Central Columbia on Thursday at Milton HS at 8:00 pm. Both teams will enter the PIAA tournament on Tuesday. It's a GREAT day to be a MUSTANG!

Attention any students who are in 8-12th grade are interested in winter cheer. There will be try-outs on November 17th from 3:00-6:00 pm in the high school. Meet at the grand staircase.
After the first round of District IV play-offs, the Mustangs are still going strong. In boys soccer action, the Mustangs beat Lourdes Regional in a first round game 6-0. They will now face the top-seeded Milton Panthers on Saturday, October 28th at 2:00 pm at Bloomsburg High School. The Lady Mustangs soccer team traveled to Troy and ousted the 6th ranked Trojans 3-1 to earn a spot against the 3rd ranked Lewisburg Dragons on Saturday, October 28th at 12:00 pm at Bloomsburg High School.
The Field Hockey team defeated Muncy last evening 3-1 and will play the #2 seed Central Columbia on Tuesday at 5:00 pm at Selinsgrove High School. Congratulations to all of our teams! Yesterday in district cross country action, your Mustangs ran well coming in 6th place as a team out of 12 teams. All runners did well yesterday earning points for our team score. Grant Boop had a pr beating his previous best by 20 seconds. 91 runners ran trying to earn one of the 10 spots at the State Championship next Saturday, November 4th. Ben Hummel came in 9th overall with a time of 16:44 beating his pr by 2 seconds and earning a spot at states. Anden Aitkins came in 16th place running this race 42 seconds faster than he did last year, clinching the final spot to go to states. Congratulations to the entire team and Good Luck Ben and Anden!
