Fall Sports Practice Update:
Junior High Softball (grades 7 and 8) will start practices on August 24th from 3:15 - 5:15 pm at Thor Park (located behind the Middleburg Dunkin Donuts)
Junior High Football will start practices on Monday, August 16th from 4:00-6:30 pm
Fall Sports Practices will begin on Monday, August 16th. Please see the information below for times and locations. All participants need a current physical (dated after 6/1/21) to be eligible to start practices. If you have a question about physicals or forms, contact Bree Solomon at bsolomon@mwsd.cc

Reminder to all football players in grades 9-12:
Mandatory Heat Acc starts on Monday, August 9th - all players in grades 9-12 must participate in the week long training listed below. You must have a current PIAA physical on file with the athletic trainer or athletic director before you will be permitted to participate.
August 9th - Football Heat Acc 1:00-3:00 and 5:00-8:00 on turf
August 10th - 5:00-8:00 pm on turf
August 11th - 1:00-3:00 pm on turf, 5:00-8:00 pm on grass
August 12th - 5:00-8:00 pm on grass
August 13th - 5:00-8:00 pm on grass
There will be a fall athlete/parent meeting on Monday, August 9th at 6:00 pm in the high school auditorium. We will review MWSD and PIAA rules and coaches will also have team meetings to go over schedules, etc. This meeting is for all fall athletes, senior and junior high.
Reminder:
Physicals will be held on Wednesday, June 30th from 5:00-7:45 pm in the high school nurse's office for anyone who will be participating in a PIAA sport in grades 7-12. Forms are available at the following link. Sections 1-6 must be completed before the physical. There is a $15 charge (checks can be made out to MWSD.

Congratulation to the Midd-West baseball team on a successful and exciting season. The team faced Wyoming Area in the first round of the PIAA play-offs and came up short, losing 5-1, despite outhitting them 9 to 7 and playing flawless defense. The team finished the year as the District IV AAAA champions with a 16-6 record. Congratulations to our seniors: Logan Rager, Camden Richards, Brayden Swineford, Trey Wagner and Hunter Wolfley. A big thank you to Trey Lauver and Ben Umstead, this year's senior managers. Congratulations Mustangs on a great season!

PIAA District IV AAAA Baseball Champions!

The District IV AAAA Championship baseball game scheduled for Saturday, May 29th at 2:00 pm at Bowman Field in Williamsport is delayed to a 5:00 pm start.
Tuesday, May 25th Athletic events:
JH Field hockey travels to Southern Columbia at 5:30 pm
On Saturday, the boys and girls track teams traveled back to Williamsport for the 2nd day of the PIAA District 4 Track and Field Championships! In all 16 personal best times and distances were performed and 1 school record! The following placed in the top 8:
Eli Swan in the 1600 and Owen Solomon in the 400 both finished 8th. The boys 4x4 team of Eli Swan, Kyle Ferster, Anden Aitkins and Owen Solomon finished 4th. For the girls, Leah Ferster finished 3rd in the shot put. Makenna Dietz finished 8th in the high hurdles and 5th in the 300 hurdles. Camryn Pyle finished 6th in the high hurdles. Alyssa Heckman finished 7th in the triple jump. The girls 4x4 team of Emma Shellenberger, Becca Yount, Makenna Dietz and Alyssa Hoover finished 8th as well.
It was a great season and all of the coaches are extremely proud of the effort that was given this season! The track team would also like to wish good luck to the baseball team in the district final on Saturday!
