Greetings Midd-West Virtual and Cyber Academy Families, This school year has certainly presented many challenges for our students and their families. Another challenge is upon us and we are reaching out to invite you to attend in building sessions for the Keystone assessments for the 2020-2021 school year. We realize that many families have chosen to attend classes virtually or through the Midd-West Cyber Academy due mainly to the concern over the spread of Covid-19. Although the Keystone assessments are required, we understand that we cannot force families with those Covid-19 concerns back into the building for testing this year. We must remind you that any student in 10th grade or younger and currently enrolled in a Keystone eligible course must be proficient on the assessment to be eligible to graduate. The Keystone eligible courses are Algebra I, Algebra IB, Accelerated Algebra I/II, Functional Algebra, Biology, and English 10. If you elect to send your child, we will be testing on the following dates: May 17th and 18th - Literature May 19th and 20th – Algebra May 21st and 24th – Biology Testing will occur in the morning. Your child may ride the bus to school on those dates if you elect to send them for testing or you can bring them in by 7:50 a.m.. They will either need a ride home after testing on those dates or they are welcome to stay for the day and work on their classwork at their school and go home on the bus. We ask that you call the High School by this Friday, May 7th and let them know if your child will be coming in to test on those dates. We also ask that if you elect to send your child for testing, you send them for every day they are eligible to test. The Board of Directors of the Midd-West School District will hold a special work session on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. in the Large Group Conference Room at Middleburg Elementary School for the purpose of discussing the 2021-2022 Preliminary General Fund Operating Budget. The Board of Directors of the Midd-West School District has changed the location of the Buildings and Grounds Committee meeting on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. to Middleburg Elementary School in the Large Group Conference Room.

Due to a scheduling error, Lifetouch did not come to the high school today for the last picture re-take day. They are reporting to us that they will be here on Tuesday, March 2nd, for the third picture re-take day for students who missed the other two days. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

Reminder to all Midd-West HS students, if there is a weather event Monday evening into Tuesday that would prevent students from attending school in-person, we will have a remote learning day on Tuesday. Again, that is IF we cannot attend in person. An announcement went out on Wednesday to all students and teachers have been reminding students to make sure they have all of their materials "just in case."
