Midd-West High School is pleased to announce September’s Young American for 2026 is Evelyn Holler. She is the daughter of Benjamin and Shannon Holler of Middleburg. Evelyn serves in various leadership roles as President of Science Olympiad (12th), Key Club Bulletin Editor (12th), and Stage Crew Manager (11th - 12th). Evelyn was awarded and completed the Harvard Independent Journalism Academy. She received First Place in the Law Day Art Competition in 10th grade. Evelyn was chosen as the 10th Grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. and the 11th Grade Student of the Month. She has achieved Distinguished Honor Roll every year since 9th Grade. Through school she gives back to her community by actively participating in Key Club. Evelyn has participated in mission trips to New Mexico (2026) and Love the Hill (2025). She is active in her church at Grace Covenant Community Church as a Youth Leader and member of the Worship Team. Evelyn demonstrated several of her unique talents as she sang and played both the harmonica and piano for the song “Piano Man” during a Modern Band Concert. Evelyn plans to further her education by majoring in Journalism and minoring in Political Science, most likely in the Boston area. Evelyn feels she was chosen as a Young American because she always pushes herself both academically and within her extracurriculars that she is involved. Evelyn would like others to know that she loves her family (and dog) for always supporting her throughout high school, plus she drives a cool, old Mustang.
