Midd-West High School would like to recognize the following students for being selected as the Student of the Month. These are students who represent Midd-West High School well through their academics, attendance, involvement in activities, and good citizenship (responsible, hard-working, and dependable).

JMThe 8th grade Student of the Month for February is Jaci Moyer. She is the daughter of Kate Reid and Josh Moyer of Middleburg. Jaci was chosen as the Student of the Month because she is a hard-working student both inside and outside of the classroom and always shows kindness to her peers. Her school activities include Basketball, Field Hockey, and Softball. Outside of school, Jaci enjoys playing travel softball and is community minded. She has helped with fundraisers for Mostly Mutts to raise $1,765 over the last five years to benefit the non-profit. In addition, she volunteers at the VFW with highway clean up and serving food for their events. In the future, Jaci is hoping to attend Penn State University and go on to Veterinary School. She would like to eventually open a Veterinary Hospital.

ASAbram Sellers is the 9th grade Student of the Month for February. He is the son of Michael and Katie Sellers of Beaver Springs. In school, Abram participates in Soccer, Basketball, and DECA. In his free time, he enjoys playing club soccer and hanging out with his friends and family. After graduation, Abram plans to attend college to study business. Abram was selected as the Student of the Month because he is a respectful student who leads by example, completes his work on time, and is willing to work with all students.

KZThe 10th grade Student of the Month for February is Katie Zimmerman. She is the daughter of Roy and Nicole Zimmerman of Middleburg. Katie was selected as the Student of the Month because she is a respectful and driven student who is a good friend and role model to other students. Katie’s school activities include Softball, Field Hockey, FFA, Thursday Morning Group, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Outside of school, she enjoys working with cattle, being outdoors, attending Hummel’s Youth Group, and spending time with her friends and family. After graduation, Katie is planning to pursue a career in the dental field as a Dental Hygienist.

EHEvelyn Holler is the 11th grade Student of the Month for February. She is the daughter of Benjamin and Shannon Holler of Middleburg. In school, Evelyn participates in Soccer, Quiz Bowl, Vocal Collective, Key Club, and Art Independent Study. She additionally serves in leadership roles as the Stage Crew Manager and Science Olympiad Treasurer. Evelyn is the leader of her Youth Group at Grace Covenant Community Church and a member of the Worship Team. She works at Texas Roadhouse as a Host and enjoys doing art. In the future, Evelyn is planning to attend college in either New York City or Boston to major in Journalism and minor in Political Science. Evelyn was chosen as the Student of the Month because she loves to learn and continually explores opportunities that are available to her. She keeps busy in an effort to get the most out of life.

EWThe 12th grade Student of the Month for February is Emma Wagner. She is the daughter of Jason and Erica Wagner of Beavertown. Emma was chosen as the Student of the Month because of her involvement in extracurriculars and the initiative that she takes in planning. She has co-organized and planned the Paint Out for Student Council, volunteered for extra shifts in selling homecoming tickets, and made snack bags for everyone on the Cross Country Team for their NEPA meet. Emma’s school activities include Field Hockey, Basketball, Softball, National Honor Society, and helping with the morning announcements. She is involved in Student Council and serves as the President. Emma is in the Work Study Program with a placement at Geisinger Lewistown Multi-Specialty Pediatrics. In her free time, she enjoys playing travel softball, reading, shopping, and hanging out with her friends and family. After graduation, Emma is planning to further her education at Lycoming College to major in Psychology with certifications in Elementary and Special Education and continue to play Softball and Basketball at the collegiate level.
