MS

Midd-West High School’s Young American for February 2026 is Madison Swineford. She is the daughter of Curtis and Amanda Swineford of Middleburg. Madison has served in leadership positions as the Class of 2026 President (11th and 12th), Yearbook Editor (12th), National Honor Society Vice President (11th) and President (12th), and Student Council Treasurer (11th). Since 8th grade, Madison has been selected as the Student of the Month. She has been on the Distinguished Honor Roll and has earned the highest GPA every year throughout her high school career. She is a member of the Varsity Softball team. Madison gives back to her community by completing a minimum of 25 hours of community service throughout the year for National Honor Society. Her favorite area of service has been volunteering as a 5th Grade Outdoor Education Counselor. Madison enjoys reading and baking in her free time. Following graduation, Madison is planning to attend Penn State University and major in nursing ultimately to become a CRNA. She believes she was chosen as a Young American because she tries to involve herself in the school and community as much as she can. She tries to create positive relationships with her peers and school faculty. Madison would like others to know that this year she is working at a Geisinger Clinic through their Co-Op Program in addition to taking classes at Bloomsburg University through the CUEC Program.
