Midd-West High School January 2026
Midd-West High School would like to recognize the following students for being selected as a Leader of the H.E.R.D. These students regularly exhibit one (or more) of the four-character traits of the H.E.R.D., being Helpful, Empathetic, Responsible, Driven, and contribute to Midd-West High School in a positive way.
The 8th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for January is Kenley Norman. She is the daughter of Aaron and Roxane Norman of Middleburg. Kenley was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because she is a hard worker who is willing to help others and does well academically. Kenley’s school activities include Field Hockey, Basketball, and Key Club. Outside of school, she enjoys playing softball, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family. In the future, Kenley is planning to go to college and become a medical malpractice lawyer.
Alyssa Walter is the 9th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for January. She is the daughter of Shanna Walter of Middleburg and Zachary Jordan of Winfield. In school, Alyssa is a member of Key Club. In her free time, she enjoys going for walks in her neighborhood, doing arts and crafts, and helping her friends and family. After graduation, Alyssa plans to become a graphic designer. Alyssa was selected as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because she is a respectful and polite student who has amazing work ethic, is willing to work with anyone, and is a great example to her peers.
The 10th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for January is Aaron Zeigler. He is the son of Brandi Romig of Mount Pleasant Mills and Jamie Zeigler of McClure. was selected as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because he is a hard-working student who comes to class prepared, and volunteers in class. He has become internally motivated towards learning with a positive attitude. In school, Aaron is involved in FFA. Outside of school, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. Aaron would like to attend SUN Area Technical Institute for the Diesel Program and become a full-time Diesel Mechanic following graduation.
Piper Stotz is the 11th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for January. She is the daughter of James and Heather Stotz of Richfield. Piper’s school activities include Concert Choir, Faith Based Club, and Positivity Club. She enjoys camping, reading, going to church, and going to Christian concerts. In the future, Piper is planning to attend college to become an accountant and enjoy being with her family. Piper was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because she is a respectful and hard-working student who takes initiative and strives to do well.
The 12th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for January is Brianna Hohman. She is the granddaughter of Jamie Payne of Richfield. Brianna was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because she is a kind and polite student who is always willing to help others and volunteer. She has shown maturity as a responsible student. Brianna has participated in Volleyball since ninth grade and has served as a Captain her senior year. She is in the Work Study Program with a placement at Shalom Salon and Spa in Middleburg. In her free time, she has played travel ball with the Lady Railors and enjoys hanging out with her friends and family. After graduation, Brianna is planning to continue her education at Empire Beauty School to become a Cosmetologist.
