Midd-West High School would like to recognize the following students for being selected as the Students of the Month. These are students who represent Midd-West High School well through their academics, attendance, involvement in activities, and good citizenship (responsible, hard-working, and dependable).
The 8th grade Student of the Month for November is Elise Stroup. She is the daughter of AJ and Heidi Stroup of Richfield. Elise was chosen as the Student of the Month because she has a strong work ethic and is a positive example to her peers. Elise’s school activities include Junior High Soccer and Basketball. She is also a manager for the Varsity Girls’ Soccer Team. Outside of school, she enjoys playing soccer and hanging out with friends and family. In the future, Elise would like to become a Large Animal Veterinarian.
Adelyn Swope is the 9th grade Student of the Month for November. She is the daughter of Kinsey Swope of Middleburg and Eric Master of McClure. In school, Adelyn participates in Soccer and FFA. In her free time, she likes to play indoor soccer during the winter. Adelyn would like to attend SUN Area Technical Institute for Welding and get a job in the welding field after graduation. Adelyn was selected as the Student of the Month because she is a polite and respectful student who works well with her peers and in class.
The 10th grade Student of the Month for November is Alaina Brower. She is the daughter of Michelle Boney and Bill Brower of McClure. Alaina was selected as the Student of the Month because she always comes to class prepared and is willing to help her peers in any way that she can. Alaina’s school activities include Field Hockey, Lacrosse, DECA, and Student Council. Outside of school, she enjoys traveling, playing travel softball, riding horses, and hiking. After graduation, Alaina is planning to attend Penn State University to major in Nursing.
Olivia Solomon is the 11th grade Student of the Month for November. She is the daughter of Kevin and Bree Solomon of Middleburg. In school, Olivia participates in National Honor Society, Enrichment, Class Congress, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Swim. She is an active member of Student Council and serves as the Treasurer. Olivia is a member of the SVAC Club Swim Team. She enjoys traveling, Youth Group, and hanging with her friends and family. In the future, Olivia is planning to attend college and major in the medical field. Olivia was chosen as the Student of the Month because she is a kind student who excels academically, gets along well with her peers and teachers, and helps other students stay on track with assignments.
The 12th grade Student of the Month for November is Matthew Hunsberger. He is the son of James and Rosemary Hunsberger of Richfield. Matthew was chosen as the Student of the Month because he is excelling at his placement in Work Study and for his extracurricular activities. Matthew’s school activities include Choir, Theater, and Modern Band. He is the President of the Vocal Collective, Secretary of the Theatre, and Assistant Director and Co-Bass Section Leader of Concert Choir. In the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, he has advanced in two District Chorus Festivals, two Region Chorus Festivals, and one All State Festival. Matthew is in the Work Study Program with a Placement at Middleburg Elementary School. In his free time, he enjoys playing the piano, working out, being outside, and spending time with his nephews. After graduation, Matthew is planning to further his education at Susquehanna University and would like to become a high school Biology teacher
