Midd-West High School would like to recognize the following students for being selected as Student of the Month. These are students who represent Midd-West High School well through their academics, attendance, involvement in activities, and good citizenship (responsible, hard-working, and dependable).

MZThe 8th grade Student of the Month for September is Macie Zechman. She is the daughter of Aaron and Bethany Zechman of Middleburg. Macie was chosen as the Student of the Month because she is kind and courteous to others and maintains a positive attitude with a strong work ethic that is highly motivated to succeed. She sets a positive example among her peers and is willing to help others in need. Her school activities include Junior High Soccer, Junior High Basketball, and Choir. In addition, Macie is a manager for both the Varsity and Junior Varsity Girls Soccer teams. She has committed to attending Chief Science Officer training at Bucknell University in October. Macie earned the highest scores in the district in both Math and ELA PSSAs and is taking several advanced classes. Outside of school, she enjoys playing soccer, attending youth group, volunteering in her church’s children’s program, and hanging out with friends and family. In the future, Macie would like to go into the medical field to become either a Pediatrician or an Anesthesiologist.

ODOlivia Dorman is the 9th grade Student of the Month for September. She is the daughter of Shawn and Stacey Dorman of Middleburg. In school, Olivia participates in Student Council, DECA, Softball, and Enrichment. In 8th grade, she served as a Chief Science Officer, a global network of STEM leaders, the first year that Midd-West participated in the program. In her free time, she enjoys playing softball and dancing. After graduation, Olivia would like to play Division 1 Softball and study Mechanical Engineering to become a Sports Engineer. Olivia was selected as the Student of the Month because she is an outstanding student who actively participates in class, is kind to others, is quick to assist others, and is excelling in a challenging academic schedule.

HPThe 10th grade Student of the Month for September is Harmony Penepacker. She is the daughter of Nicole Smith of Beaver Springs and Barry Penepacker of Pequea. Harmony was selected as the Student of the Month because she is an excellent student who works hard and always has a smile on her face. Harmony’s school activities include being a member of Class Congress and serving as the Midd-West FFA Secretary. Outside of school, she enjoys doing photography, taking care of her plants, and buying new plants. After graduation, Harmony would like to own a greenhouse and have her own photography business.

JSJacob Sellers is the 11th grade Student of the Month for September. He is the son of Michael and Katie Sellers of Beaver Springs. In school, Jacob participates in Boys Soccer, Track and Field, and DECA. He enjoys playing club soccer, going to church, doing Biblical Studies, and spending time with friends and family. In the future, Jacob is planning to attend college to study Engineering, pursue a career, and start a family. Jacob was chosen as the Student of the Month because he has established himself as a leader among his peers and challenges himself academically with advanced courses. He takes everything he does seriously while he maintains a positive attitude and is kind and considerate to others.

IHThe 12th grade Student of the Month for September is Ian Hall. He is the son of Greg and Nadia Hall of Penns Creek. Ian was chosen as the Student of the Month because he has a strong work ethic and desire to succeed. He sets an excellent example for other students and is a leader among his peers, both in school and in athletics. He includes all members of the Cross Country team in their activities and encourages his teammates. In school, Ian serves in leadership roles as the captain of the Varsity Boys Cross Country Team and president of the Street Hockey Club. He is a runner on the Track and Field Team in the 400-meter and 800-meter races. In his free time, he likes to go hiking, mountain biking, and longboarding. After graduation, Ian is planning to further his education by studying Mechanical Engineering so that he can work for a motorsports team as a Race Engineer.
