Midd-West High School would like to recognize the following students for being selected as a Leader of the H.E.R.D. (Helpful, Empathic, Responsible, and Driven). These students put forth effort, attend school regularly, and contribute to Midd-West High School in a positive way.

PPThe 8th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for October is Penelope Plummer. She is the daughter of Andrew and Stephanie Plummer of McClure. She was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because she is always helpful to all students and maintains a positive attitude. Penelope’s school activities include Cheerleading, Student Council, Band, Chorus, and FFA. Outside of school, she enjoys doing art, reading, painting, playing video games, riding bike and 4-wheeler, cooking, spending money, sleeping, and hanging out with her friends. In the future, Penelope plans to explore a career in Automotive Repair or Criminal Justice.

MTMax Trawitz is the 9th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for October. He is the son of Bo and Courtney Trawitz of Middleburg. In school, Max participates in Soccer, Wrestling, Baseball, and DECA. In his free time, he enjoys being with his friends, spending time with his dad target shooting, and drawing closer to God. After graduation, Max plans to go to college and become an Athletic Trainer. Max was selected as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because he takes initiative, recognizes the need to help where needed, and sets an example for other students.

LSThe 10th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for October is Levi Snyder. He is the son of Scott and Wendy Snyder of Richfield. Levi was selected as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because he takes action when there is a need and shows initiative. In school, Levi participates in Baseball. Outside of school, he enjoys riding 4-wheeler, fishing, and attending his church’s youth group. In the future, Levi is planning to attend SUN Area Technical Institute and enter the workforce after graduation.

ATAidan Troshak is the 11th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for October. He is the son of Tara Troshak of McClure. Aidan likes all his classes, and his favorite subject is Chemistry. He is active in Boy Scouts and enjoys playing guitar and video games. Aiden is undecided about his future but has an interest in possibly becoming a lawyer and would like to move north. Aidan was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because he is friendly to all and is diligent in his academic work.

BSThe 12th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for October is Braxton Smith. He is the son of Nikki Master and Matthew Smith of Middleburg. Braxton was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because he shows leadership and sets an example to other students. In addition, he volunteers as the Mustang mascot taking time with the crowd for pictures and cheering with the cheerleaders. Braxton’s school activities include Baseball and FFA. In his free time, he enjoys weightlifting, running, hunting, exploring the outdoors, and playing pickleball with his friends. After graduation, Braxton is planning to further his education at Bloomsburg University to major in Exercise Science and become a Physical Therapist.
