Midd-West High School would like to recognize the following students for being selected as a Leader of the H.E.R.D. These students regularly exhibit one (or more) of the four-character traits of the H.E.R.D., being Helpful, Empathetic, Responsible, Driven, and contribute to Midd-West High School in a positive way.
The 8th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for May is Makynzi Stotz. She is the daughter of Jim and Heather Stotz of Richfield. Makynzi was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because she always comes to class prepared, works hard on her tasks and assignments, submits her work on time, and is serious about her academics by always striving for the best grade possible. Her school activities include Faith Based Club and Puzzle Club. Outside of school, she enjoys swimming, riding bike, camping, listening to music, creating 3-D art, and drawing. In the future, Makynzi plans to attend the police academy and become a police officer.
Natalie Sheaffer is the 9th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for May. She is the daughter of Christopher and Jennifer Sheaffer of Middleburg. In school, Natalie participates in Field Hockey and is a manager for the Junior High Field Hockey Team. In her free time, she enjoys attending sporting events, participating in her youth group at the Selinsgrove Church of the Nazarene, and spending time with her teammates, friends, and family. Natalie was selected as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because she is an extremely conscientious student who is doing well taking honor and accelerated courses. She does what is right no matter who is watching her.
The 10th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for May is Chloe Miller. She is the daughter of Matthew and Tiffany Miller of Middleburg. Chloe was selected as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because she is a hard-working student who has matured in her leadership roles in the Midd-West Key Club. She served in a leadership role in 9th grade as the Editor and in 10th grade as the Treasurer. Chloe recently won the Sandy Nininger Award that is only awarded to one Pennsylvania Key Club student yearly. Outside of school, she enjoys baking, reading, coloring, and watching TV and movies. Additionally, she regularly volunteers with Kaitlin Smiles and St. Paul’s Church Food Bank. After graduation, Chloe is planning to attend college for elementary education.
Samuel Jordan is the 11th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for May. He is the son of Russell and Beth Jordan of Middleburg. In school, Samuel participates in Football and FFA. He enjoys attending Hummel Church, being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his friends and family. In the future, Samuel is planning to enter the work force and have a career in construction and HVAC while continuing to reside in Snyder County. Samuel was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because he demonstrates an excellent work ethic and has an outstanding ability to collaborate well with anyone. In addition, he exhibits kindness towards others and his commitment to quality work is evident in all tasks that he completes.
The 12th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for May is Jaida Good. She is the daughter of Deanna Good of Middleburg. Jaida was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because she is always willing to provide answers and insight in discussions along with working well with everyone in class. She also made amazing contributions to the Senior Cabaret Show. Jaida’s school activities include Theater (8th–12th), Concert Choir (8th–12th), Vocal Ensemble (10th–12th), and Vocal Collective (12th). In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing, and spending time with her cats. After graduation, Jaida is planning to further her education by attending Susquehanna University for a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting.
