Midd-West High School would like to recognize the following students for being selected as a Leader of the H.E.R.D. These students regularly exhibit one (or more) of the four-character traits of the H.E.R.D., being Helpful, Empathetic, Responsible, Driven, and contribute to Midd-West High School in a positive way.

JBThe 8th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for April is Jordan Bingaman. He is the son of Randy and Amanda Bingaman of McClure. Jordan was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because he is a super hard worker and can be counted on to participate in class. His favorite subjects in school are Math, Science, and English/Language Arts. He participates in the Positivity Club and the Hunting/Fly Fishing Club. Outside of school, he enjoys golfing, shooting pool, playing cornhole with his pap, and going for walks. In the future, Jordan would like to either be a Technological Informational Coder or a Phlebotomist.

DWDerek Wert is the 9th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for April. He is the son of Adam and Elise Wert of Middleburg. In school, Derek is a member of the Varsity Soccer and Varsity Baseball teams. In his free time, he enjoys playing travel soccer, hunting, and fishing. After graduation, Derek plans to attend college to study Construction Management and play soccer at the collegiate level. Derek was selected as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because he always participates in class, helps his classmates, completes all his work, and is not afraid to ask for help if needed.

JDThe 10th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for April is Jared Devine. He is the son of Cody and Donna Arnold of Middleburg. Jared was selected as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because he is a respectful student who has great school spirit and always comes to class prepared and ready to work. He is a role model and leader to many of his peers. Jared’s school activities include Football, Wrestling, and Track and Field. Outside of school, he enjoys playing cornhole and working. After graduation, Jared is planning to become an Electrician.

AOAvori Orwan is the 11th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for April. She is the daughter of Roseanna Hanselman and David Orwan of Middleburg. Avori’s favorite subjects in school are Spanish and Community Art. She has participated in window painting at various businesses in the Middleburg community. She enjoys drawing, cooking, and listening to music. She has an interest in learning to play the drums and guitar, and how to skateboard. In the future, Avori would like to have her own food truck or be a tattoo artist. Avori was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because she puts her best effort into her schoolwork, advocates for herself when she needs help or clarification, and has shown maturity when working with classmates.

LGThe 12th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for April is Loretta Goss. She is the daughter of Lacey Goss of Richfield and Eran Goss of Beaver Springs. Loretta was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because she is always on top of her work and was recently promoted within her job placement. Loretta participates in the Art Club in school. Loretta is in the Work Study Program and has been hired as a paraprofessional at West Snyder Elementary School. In her free time, she enjoys painting, reading, working, and hanging out with her friends and family. After graduation, Loretta is planning to work for a year before attending college to earn her teaching degree and real estate license.
