Midd-West High School would like to recognize the following students for being a Leader of the H.E.R.D. (Helpful, Empathic, Responsible, and Driven)

PKThe 8th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for March is Payton Kline. He is the son of Doug and Loni Kline of Beavertown. Payton was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because he pushes through adversity to succeed, shows kindness to teachers and peers, and is willing to offer a helping hand to anyone that needs it. Payton’s school activity includes playing percussion in the Band. Outside of school, he enjoys swimming, playing video games, and playing piano. In the future, Payton plans to attend college but is undecided on a field of study.

BPBlaze Phillips is the 9th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for March. He is the son of Kimberly Laporte of Middleburg. In school, Blaze participates in Concert Band, Marching Band, and Youth in Philanthropy. In his free time, he enjoys reading (his favorite book is Dune by Frank Herbert), writing, drawing, listening to and making music, building Legos, and hanging out with friends. After graduation, Blaze plans to further his education by attending college to become a history teacher. Blaze was selected as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because he is kind to teachers and students, always does his work, and can be counted on to do the right thing.

CRThe 10th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for March is Conner Rowe. He is the son of Mervin and Victoria Hostetler of McClure. Conner was selected as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because of his excellent work ethic in the School to Work Program. He takes the initiative, asks for help when needed or for clarification on a task, and immediately starts on the tasks for the day. The team he works with in the community enjoy working with him and know they can count on him to help things run smoothly. Conner participates in FFA in school and works in the Middleburg Elementary School kitchen. Outside of school, he enjoys campfires, playing pool, working on tractors and the family farm, as well as spending time with family. After graduation, Conner would like to become a Diesel Technician and maybe own his own garage one day.

LMLashauna Mosley is the 11th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for March. She is the daughter of Shane and Brandi Sheesley of Middleburg. Lashauna participates in Class Congress in school. She enjoys swimming in the summer, going to her cabin in Potter County, and spending time with friends and family. In the future, Lashauna is planning to pursue a career as a Veterinarian Assistant. Lashauna was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because she always works hard, actively volunteers, and treats others with kindness.

AHThe 12th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for March is Ava Hoover. She is the daughter of Charles and Abby Hoover of Middleburg. Ava was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because she is a bold, caring person who is unafraid to participate in class and articulates her ideas well. Additionally, she is a strong advocate for her peers. Ava’s school activities include Bowling, True Crime Club, and FFA. In her free time, she enjoys bowling, painting, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family. After graduation, Ava is planning to attend college for Criminal Justice and explore the forensic field.
