Midd-West High School January 2024 Young American

Midd-West High School is pleased to announce the Young American for January 2024 is Samantha Landis. She is the daughter of Cherry Blazer and Anthony Landis of Middleburg. Samantha has served in various leadership roles including National Honor Society Vice President (11th grade), National Honor Society President (12th grade), Class Officer (10th and 11th grades), and DECA Vice President of Hospitality (11th and 12th grades). She has been on the Distinguished Honor Roll and Honor Roll throughout her high school years. She was selected as the Student of the Month in 9th grade. Samantha has been involved in her community over the past several years by volunteering at countless community events and regularly volunteering with The American Youth Soccer League, The American Red Cross, and the Middleburg Fireman's Carnival. She has volunteered at the Field Days and Bike Rodeos at Middleburg Elementary School and Trunk or Treat at West Snyder Elementary School. She is a member of the girls soccer and lacrosse teams, and her hobbies include gardening and floral arranging. In the future, Samantha is planning to attend college to study pre-medicine with aspirations of becoming a physician as well as traveling. She believes she was chosen as a Young American because from a young age, she has always shown her dedication and determination through schoolwork and the extra-curricular activities she is involved in. Aside from school, she works extremely hard to spread kindness and maintain a positive attitude. Samantha would like others to know that she is forever grateful for all the wonderful blessings in her life but most especially for her amazing family and the support they have given her throughout the last 18 years.
