Throughout her high school career, she has been on the Distinguished Honor Roll. Currently, Lydia has had perfect attendance since 6th grade. During her 8th, 10th, and 11th grade years, she was a tutor in math at the Midd-West Middle School. Lydia is active in her community, serving in many ways. She loves to do all things church related, like fundraising, fun days, cooking at camp meetings, helping with VBS, going on mission trips, community outreach, food drives, and Youth Sunday. Lydia is active in her local fire company, Fremont, by helping with their Strawberry and Apple Harvest Festivals. Through FFA, she hands out thank you cards for Veterans Day and Teacher Appreciation. She loves to help give back to others through the FFA Giving Tree that gives clothing items to students in the Midd-West School District and the Buckets of Blessings which sends hygiene items around the nation. Lydia participates in the teachers’ breakfast in which the FFA cooks breakfast for the teachers and staff on an in-service day. She is in the Work Study program and is placed at the Midd-West Middle School in the Agriculture room. Following graduation, Lydia plans to attend Penn State University to obtain a degree in Agricultural Education. Lydia believes she was selected to be a Young American because she tries to do good every day and put a smile on people’s faces. Lydia would like others to know that she loves to prepare food for family and friends; but most importantly, she loves to spread the love of Jesus.
