Leaders of the H.E.R.D.

Midd-West High School would like to recognize the following students for being a Leader of the H.E.R.D. (Helpful, Empathic, Responsible, and Driven):

The 8th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for September is Isaac Eddy. He is the son of Shawn and Heidi Eddy of Middleburg. Isaac was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because he is always respectful and on time to class as well as being willing to help whenever needed and helping to keep classmates on track during class. Outside of school, he enjoys playing video games, jumping on the trampoline, and drawing. In the future, Isaac would like to further his education and become a pilot.





Ace Weaver is the 9th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for September. He is the son of Zebulon and Brittney Weaver of Paxtonville. In school, Ace participates in Concert Band and Card Game Club. In his free time, he enjoys playing with his bulldog Maggie and playing video games with his friends and family. Ace is involved with Boy Scout Troop 415 Middleburg and the Rock Youth Group at Paxtonville Church. After graduation, he plans to attend Pennsylvania College of Technology for Computer Science and study to become a Pastor. Ace was selected as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because he is a kind student with a great attitude who is a role model for other students. He starts the day by holding the door open for classmates and teachers. Ace gives 100% in class every day, completes his assignments on time, asks for help when needed, and participates in class.


The 10th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for September is Payton Zechman. She is the daughter of Ashley Zechman of Beaver Springs and Robert Hannick of Beaver Springs. Payton was selected as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because she participates in class, is eager to learn, and is putting forth greater effort this school year. In addition, she has stepped out of her comfort zone by joining the Field Hockey team. Payton’s school activities include Art Club, Tim Burton Club, and Field Hockey. Outside of school, she enjoys drawing, painting, listening to music, hanging out with friends, and working at the Beaver Springs Dragway. After graduation, Payton is planning to attend college to be an ICU nurse.




Landen Thomas is the 11th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for September. He is the son of Jerre and Stephanie Thomas of Beavertown. Landon participates in FFA in school. He is a member of the Beavertown Fire Company. In the future, he is planning to pursue a welding career. Landen was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because he works hard in class, completes his work in a timely manner, and has gone above and beyond keeping classrooms clean as a part-time custodian for the MWSD working in both the High School and West Snyder Elementary School.




The 12th grade Leader of the H.E.R.D. for September is Joshua Chambers. He is the son of Christapher and Jennifer Chambers of Beaver Springs. Joshua was chosen as the Leader of the H.E.R.D. because he is a phenomenal, quiet, hard-working student who takes his education seriously, works well with others, provides input into class discussions, asks thoughtful questions that expand material, and is prepared for class by having his work done. Joshua’s school activities have included Student Council and five years of being in the orchestra playing the cello. In his free time, he enjoys working, reading, cooking, writing, and hiking. After graduation, Joshua is planning to further his education by attending Western Governors University online for Software Development
