Mr. Aucker

Dear West Snyder Elementary Community,

I am very humbled and honored to introduce myself as the new principal of West Snyder Elementary School and to join this excellent school community.  I can assure you that I share in the Midd-West School District’s community dedication in caring for our students every day while providing them with a meaningful learning environment.

I arrive at WSE as a seasoned teacher and new principal.  Although I am an educator, I am also a father and a husband.  My daughter, Kinley is joining the Midd-West family this year as a kindergartner at MES.  My middle child, Easton, will be in 3rd grade this year and my oldest son, Gavin, is heading to the high school in 8th grade.  My wife works at UPMC Williamsport in patient relations.  I am looking forward to introducing my family to the West Snyder Community.

The 2021-2022 school year will mark my 20th year in education.  I have served as a long-term substitute in 1st,2nd, and 3rd grades during the 2002-2003 school year.  Later, I was hired full time as a 5th grade teacher at Beaver Adams Elementary School and was later transferred to West Snyder Middle School where I stayed until 2009.  I went to Middleburg Elementary School and taught in 5th grade until this year.  My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, a Master of Education degree in Instructional Technology Specialist, and a Principal Certification PK-12.

I firmly believe that every child can exceed and that the cooperation between home and school builds trust and self-esteem in students, our students can use their highest potential to shape their future.  I am devoted to continually exploring new ideas to meet the needs of all students and to interact with parents and community members more efficiently.  We will be meeting with the staff, and with parents and students throughout the year to identify specific goals in the areas of student achievement, school climate, and parent communication.

To our students, I cannot wait to see you all!  I hope that you are excited for this coming school year.  It is going to be a meaningful and fun year.  We will be learning together to achieve the highest accomplishments.

To conclude, please remember that my door is always open to you.  I sincerely welcome your conversation and input during this year.  Let us keep our students the primary focus of our work.  I can’t wait to celebrate our collective successes during the 2021-2022 school year.

Enjoy the remainder of summer!

Sincerely,

Corey A. Aucker, Principal
