Due to the increase of Identified Students that attend Midd-West School District, both Middleburg Elementary School and West Snyder Elementary School have been approved to operate under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). What this means is that students who attend Middleburg Elementary School and West Snyder Elementary School are eligible for Free Breakfast and Lunch without having to complete any application. It is important to note that this determination is not based solely on financial considerations, and any stigma that is attached to CEP should be disregarded. This is a positive development for our district in that it will provide immediate financial relief for families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and will support our district’s efforts at providing nutrition for the young minds in our district.
Students who attend either Midd-West Middle School or Midd-West High School will still need to complete Free and Reduced Meal (FARM) Applications, even if there are students in a household who attend one of the above mentioned CEP schools.
For the health and safety of students, staff, and faculty, cash transactions at the Serving line will be suspended for the start of the school year. Students may still bring in money to pay off past school years’ debts and for purchasing a la carte items. Money will be collected by teachers in the classroom or in the office. Parents may also make payments via www.myschoolbucks.com.
