Midd-West High School’s Young American for May is Alyssa Hoover. She is the daughter of Joshua and Dezyreé Hoover of Richfield. Alyssa has been a captain on the Midd-West Girls Soccer Team. For three years, she has been a captain at Dance Camp. In addition, Alyssa is a Dance Leader at Dance Fever Studio and has won the Best Technique Award in dance for many years. She received the Perfect Attendance Award for Kindergarten – 12th Grade for never missing a day of school throughout her school years. Alyssa has been on the Honor Roll during her high school career and has been chosen as a Student of the Month in 12th Grade. She has given back to her community by volunteering twice a week at a local dance studio to help young girls find their voice through dance and to help them feel more confident about themselves. Alyssa has the unique talent of being able to learn a dance or choreograph a dance in an hour and perform it the next. Alyssa plans on furthering her education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in the field of Pre-Veterinary Medicine. She believes she was selected as a Young American because of her involvement with school activities and her ability to include others. Alyssa would like others to know that she is constantly trying to learn new things and strives to become a better version of herself.
