    Career Information

No one expects a middle school student to decide on a career right now.  However, it is important that students begin to EXPLORE the whole world of careers.  Many students are familiar with the careers of family members and people who are close to them.  There are thousands of careers out there to consider, so middle school is a good time to begin career exploration.

Students are developing their likes and dislikes, and strengths and weaknesses.  It is important to know these things so that students can focus on developing the academic skills needed to succeed.  Through the Naviance/Family Connection program, students will begin to track their interests, their abilities, and the careers they are interested in learning more about.

Student Assistance Program (SAP) - is designed to help school staff in identifying issues including alcohol, tobacco, other drugs, and mental health issues which pose a barrier to a student's success.  The primary goal of SAP is to help students overcome these barriers in order to achieve success in school.  Core members of the SAP team have been trained through a state-endorsed program to assist students in removing these barriers to their learning.  Referrals are confidential and can be made by calling the guidance office at 837-0551 ext. 3550 or students, staff members and parents can complete a referral form.
