Driver's Education

  • Midd-West High School Driver Education Information

Although driver education classes are no longer available in the regular class schedule, you may want to consider enrollment in an online driver education course and a behind-the-wheel course offered by the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit. Benefits of completing both of these courses include:

    1. Instruction on safe driving practices and Pennsylvania driving laws 2. Six hours of one-on-one driving instruction 3. Testing with a familiar instructor (Testing is included with behind-the-wheel instruction and is only available to students who have also completed a classroom or online course) 4. Discounts for automobile insurance for up to eight years (Check with your insurance company.) 5. An opportunity to acquire senior license six months early.

The online course is currently available at www.driversed.com at a cost of $99. You may check out the site and complete part of the course before you are required to submit the payment. Be sure to choose the Pennsylvania course when visiting the website. The cost of the CSIU driving instruction is currently $210. Registration forms are available in the high school office and may be returned to Mr. Sheaffer’s mailbox at the office. For your convenience, Pennsylvania driving manuals are available from Mr. Beward in Room 620, or they can be picked up at any DMV. Permit application forms may be obtained at any DMV or online at www.dmv.state.pa.us.
